Why is Tylenol Toxic?

This post cites proven healthcare problems from acetaminophen, Tylenol product recalls and deaths, and a listing of other products containing acetaminophen. 

Acetaminophen prevents the liver from detoxifying by blocking glutathione production.  Glutathione is needed to take toxins out of our blood, livers, and kidneys.  Considering unsafe production practices, Tylenol may be the most dangerous over the counter medication today.  Throw Toxic Tylenol in the garbage where it belongs.

DTAP SCREAM
Legally we are not allowed to sue the manufacturers of vaccines if they have injured us or our loved ones, but what if we were given or prescribed acetaminophen/Tylenol after a vaccination?  Can we sue the maker of Tylenol, Johnson and Johnson, or our healthcare provider?

Acetaminophen will not allow the body to detoxify.  The Dtap scream has been well documented going back into the early 1900's, when it was originally called the encephalitic scream.  It comes from swelling on the brain and spinal column because acetaminophen stops the body from utilizing vitamin D, which reduces swelling.

DOUBLE DOSE = DEATH
"The danger is that there isn't much difference between a safe, effective
dose, and a toxic dose. Just a doubling of the maximum daily dose can be
enough to kill, warns Dr. Anne Larson of the University of Washington
Medical Center. The other problem is that if you have no food in your
stomach, or if you have alcohol in your system, or worse yet, both, (not
relevant for your kids unless they're teenagers, but think about that
tylenol you took for your hangover last month), the regular dosage can be
toxic because of the overload to the liver."

TYLENOL BLOCKS GLUTATHIONE PRODUCTION
We found that glutathione reductase, the essential enzyme of the antioxidant system, was dose-dependently inhibited by the product of acetaminophen metabolism, the conjugate of acetaminophen, and glutathione.

TYLENOL EMERGENCY ROOM VISITS

TYLENOL BLOCKS ELIMINATION OF TOXINS
The most detailed explanation of acetaminophen causing autism comes from biochemist William Shaw.  He explains that acetaminophen can temporarily inhibit our body’s ability to process toxins, depleting glutathione levels (think of glutathione as nature’s mop), resulting essentially in a toxic wash of the body, including the brain.  Simply put: yes, biochemically acetaminophen could cause autism.

TYLENOL AND AUTISM
Acetaminophen is the last remaining drug in a particular class of relatively toxic drugs that is DERIVED FROM COAL TAR. It is the only drug left in its class not discontinued because of toxicity. It was already known to be associated with the development of asthma in children.  Oddly enough, it is not known if acetaminophen actually works to alleviate fever in children.

A 2008 study led by Stephen Schultz, who earned his Ph.D. in public health epidemiology at the University of California at San Diego, after working as a dentist for 21 years, found that children given acetaminophen after vaccination against measles, mumps, and rubella developed autism eight times as often as children given ibuprofen.  Children exposed to long-term use of paracetamol (acetaminophen) during pregnancy had substantial adverse developmental outcomes at 3 years of age.

TYLENOL CAUSES LIVER FAILURE
Johnson & Johnson's popular pain reliever Tylenol is found in many over-the-counter and prescription medications.  Tylenol overdose is the most common cause of acute liver failure in the country.

Dr. Joel Weinstock, professor and chief of the division of gastroenterology and hepatology at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, told ABC News: “Use of Tylenol, particularly with alcohol, can readily cause hepatitis and liver failure,” he said.  “This happens frequently.  Some of these patients will require [a] liver transplant because the damage to the liver is so severe.”

2012 RECALL
600,000 bottles of infant Tylenol were recalled for faulty dosing systems that may result in babies receiving too little or too much medicine.

2011 RECALL
Court documents say metal particles, and bits of floating metal specs including nickel, iron and chromium, were introduced during the manufacturing process. Prosecutors said McNeil failed to take immediate steps to fix the problem and the documentation of the cleaning of their machines was inadequate.

2006 DEATH
Three days prior to his death, the Dunson’s began treating their son with Infants’ Tylenol after he exhibited symptoms of what they believed to be a common cold, according to court documents.

The parents said they were not aware that the medication was more potent than regular Children’s Tylenol, even though the concentration of Infants’ Tylenol is three times that of Children’s Tylenol.

The Infants’ Tylenol box states that parents should seek the advice of a physician before giving the medication to children under the age of 2.

The couple said they did not contact their doctor before administering the medication because their doctor had recommended the drug in the past and they had used it with their four other children without any problems.

As Marquis grew more ill, the Dunsons administered two droppers of the medication every four hours. The baby should only have been given half a dropper of the drug as needed.

Three days after his parents began administering the drug, Marquis was rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead soon after he arrived.
